Privacy Policy — Chore Lottery
This policy explains what Chore Lottery does with information on your device. It is written for the current version of the app (local-only household data).
Short version
Chore Lottery stores your household (people, chores, and spin history) on your device. We do not run accounts, and we do not upload that household data to our servers.
What the app stores
On your phone or tablet, the app may store:
- Names of people in your household
- Chore names and difficulty settings
- Spin history (who was picked, which chore, when, and whether it was skipped)
- Basic app preferences (for example, whether sample data was seeded)
This stays in on-device storage (for example SharedPreferences / local app storage).
What we do not collect (current version)
We do not currently collect:
- Name, email, or account login for Chore Lottery
- Location
- Contacts, photos, or microphone
- Advertising IDs for tracking
- Analytics or crash reports sent to us
- Household data uploaded to a Chore Lottery backend (there isn’t one yet)
If a future version adds analytics, cloud sync, accounts, or in-app purchases that require Apple/Google receipt checks, we will update this policy before those features ship. Future versions may add shared-household features (invites, assignment on each phone, notifications); those are not enabled in this build.
Third parties
The current app does not embed third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
App Store / Google Play may process purchase and device information under their privacy policies when you download the app or buy an optional unlock later.
Children
Chore Lottery is a household utility rated for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13 as a social or tracking product. Parents/guardians control what names they enter on the device.
Data retention and deletion
Because data lives on your device, you control it:
- Delete people, chores, or history inside the app (where those controls exist), or
- Delete the app to remove its local storage
We cannot remotely delete or recover your household list.

Changes
We may update this policy when the app’s behaviour changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
UK / GDPR note
For the current local-only version, we are not operating an online service that processes your household data on our systems. If that changes (for example cloud sync), we will describe the lawful basis, retention, and your rights in an updated policy.
